Long-time club member Bob Evans passed away August 11, 2017 following a short battle with pancreatic cancer. Bob was a high-energy, innovative member of North Idaho Classics. He played a key role in the annual planning of Car d’ Lane and the River City Rod Run. He will be missed by all of us who worked with him on club events.
A celebration of life is being discussed by Bob’s family. More information will follow.
The River City Rod Run is erroneously listed twice in the Inland Northwest Car Club Council Calendar of Events. The listed dates of September 14-15 are incorrect. The Rod Run was held on the 14th and 15th of July.
On December 14, 2017, members of North Idaho Classics will meet with representatives from several charitable organizations in the Inland Northwest. On April 5, 2012, North Idaho Classics established a scholarship endowment fund with North Idaho College in Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho. The endowment fund is in memory of Gene Fuson, one of the founding members of the club.
$10,000 was gifted to the endowment by the club and will provide scholarships for students enrolled in music or auto technology classes. Scholarships will be alternated or split between each discipline annually.
This endowment fund is in addition to the more than $100,000 donated to charities by the club since 1996. Most of the club’s funds are raised through NICCC’s involvement in Car D’ Lane. The funds for the endowment fund were raised through raffles, poker runs, and club donations.
